Cost Controller

Duties:

• Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to safety.
• Provide estimates for project authorization.
• Monitor, control, and report on authorized projects in terms of cost history and forecast.
• Provide check estimates for project changes to Scope and contract variation quotations.
• Assist in the coordination of scope of work, including checking scope versus estimate.
• Develop and maintain planned and actual cost and commitment schedules, including 's' curves. Update these with approved changes to the project scope.
• Assist Lead and Project Manager with progress monitoring and to process progress claims.
• Assist Lead and Project Manager to manage change control.
• Project cost reporting, including variations, cost schedule, and monthly budget.
• Assist Lead and Project Manager with project review functions (i.e. review and adjust scope of work and estimates to complete).
• Ability to work in a multi-discipline environment as a team member.
• Possess and have demonstrated strong business acumen to enable your ability to work with contractors, clients and project personnel to achieve project outcomes.

Qualifications:

• Educational background to support the application of Project Cost Control industry practices and techniques (eg. CMA, BA, ENG., or industry related training)
• Minimum 5 years experience in either engineering contracting, consultancy organizations in the mining or mineral processing industry, construction or brown field plant experience.
• Experience with databases and cost estimating software.
• Good general understanding of all engineering disciplines.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
