Cisco Network Engineer

This global organisation is searching for a Project Engineer to work with clients within the Resources Sector. This is a centrally located position.

Our client is a Global Services Provider who are currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer to work on projects within the mining industry. This is a project engineering opportunity to work for Tier 1 Mining Company.  

If successful, you will be responsible for performing and coordinating operational support, administration and/or engineering design activities related to the implementation of data networks and equipment. 
  
Further responsibilities in this role include:   

• Implementing and maintaining corporate data communications network services, components and associated infrastructure.  
• Design and implementation duties.
• Maintaining technical documentation, reports and records regarding installed network infrastructure solutions.  
• Providing level 2 &3 technical support, troubleshooting and fault rectification technical issues related to networking equipment and services.
• Conducting acceptance tests and commissioning communications systems and equipment.  
• Acting as an interface between the organisation and network suppliers/carriers/vendors regarding technical issues. 
• Providing guidelines for training in the use and maintenance of Cisco hardware, as installed.  
• Testing, implementing, monitoring and tuning Cisco networks to ensure optimum systems performance and highlight potential issues.  
• Analysing network traffic data and providing recommendations on performance improvements to network infrastructures as appropriate. 

To be considered for this opportunity, you will possess the following:

• Extensive skills in Cisco communications and data networking. 
• Ability to work with a variety of systems across more than one of the communications disciplines (voice, data or image). 
• Good communication skills with various levels of internal management and external vendors.  
• Skills in LAN Switching and routing. 
• Skills in Cisco routing technologies.  
• Operational knowledge of IP Telephony systems and integration /QoS over both Local Area Networks (LANs) and Wide Area Networks (WANs). 
• Experience working in Cisco data and voice networking environments.
