Project Manager/Designer

Responsibilities

• We are looking for an individual to perform engineering work in connection with the installation of the fire protection system in our Davenport, IA office. Responsibilities may include: detailing of shop drawings, field engineering, operation planning, project scheduling, quantity tracking, material procurement, contract administration, estimating and supervision of field activities. Perform engineering tasks requiring standard techniques and handling minor problems of a technical nature arising during the installation of the system. Maintain records as required regarding job progress, costs, material usage, etc. May assist in planning and scheduling of job and/or job segments. Investigate problems and/or reported incidents; identify and recommend solutions/alternatives as appropriate. Review plans and specifications to determine material requirements (quantities and qualities), etc. Work with suppliers as required facilitating the handling and expediting delivery of materials.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in engineering, construction management or related degree.
• 3 years of Design experience in a construction related position.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications. 
• Working knowledge of computers and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and AutoCAD. 
• Strong organizational and time management skills. 
• Good attention to detail, with the ability to recognize discrepancies.
• Strong work ethic - Willing to do what it takes to get the job done.
• The ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
