Job Summary: Independently supervises routine engineering analyses, performs non-standard soil-structure interaction assessments and prepares engineering and consultancy reports in accordance with the Company procedures, Health and Safety and Quality policies.
Key Responsibilities:
• Supervises team of engineers and engineering assistants
• Acts as project manager for multiple projects, assigning staff and tasks and monitoring budget and schedule
• Attends Client meetings and performs client-related project administrative tasks
• Independently evaluates and develops soil design parameters
• Independently supervises, selects, performs and checks standard engineering analyses
• Produces and checks engineering and consultancy reports prior to final review by more senior staff
• Assists other professionals with technical training, proposals, resource planning, invoices and marketing
• Assists with continuing development of inter-company and Client contacts
• Recommends and implements improvements in specific technical area
• Helps ensure that direct reports fulfil their own job description and are given the assistance required to achieve goals and development targets as set in appraisals
Qualifications: Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline plus post-graduate qualification in soil mechanics or equivalent in education and experience. Preferably professional Chartered status.
Experience: Proven post-graduate experience within geotechnical engineering environment, including management of geotechnical engineering projects.
Skills: Computer literacy, including use of spreadsheets, databases, engineering software and plotting software.
