Process Technician D - Ammonia
- We are currently seeking a Process Operator – Ammonia/Utilities for our Faustina, Louisiana location. The purpose of this position is to monitor and operate outside process and auxiliary equipment in the Ammonia and Utilities Plants at Faustina. Perform and report lab analysis to ensure accurate process control of Granulation processes.
What will you do?
- Train and qualify in all outside areas of the unit to include reforming, synthesis and compressions areas of ammonia as well as auxiliary steam boilers and related equipment used in the treatment of river water.
- Monitors ammonia plant pressures, temperatures and flows in accordance with proper operating conditions and makes adjustments as directed by board operator technicians
- Perform orderly correction of any problems in a safe manner securing equipment and preparing for maintenance in accordance with the prescribed safety and environmental policies and practices.
- Assist in charging of catalyst and starting and testing equipment as maintenance is performed.
- Backwashes and regenerates chemical beds, checks natural as metering station and river dock water pumps. Performs area housekeeping duties as directed.
Position Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required. Associate Degree in Process Technology preferred.
- Familiarity with an industrial environment preferred.
- Previous Kellog ammonia plant experience a plus.
- Basic working knowledge of computers.
- Effective verbal communication skills a plus.
- Must be able to work in a team environment to accomplish results.
- 2 hour rotating shift is required.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
