About the Company:
My client is a leading and highly successful and reputable coal mining organisation working on exciting mining projects throughout Queensland. Due to the rapid growth of their organization they now have vacancy for a Procurement Superintendent who will manage their onsite procurement activities including all facets of strategic sourcing and contracting.
 
The ideal candidate for this role will need:
  • To have strong knowledge of all aspects of Supply Chain and Supply Markets, and proven ability in negotiating and executing high value, business critical contracts
  • Proven ability in dealing with client management along with developing strong working relationships and continuously improves the business
  • The ability to clearly articulate business proposals to senior executives
  • To negotiate with potential suppliers and evaluate tenders to deliver commercial advantage
 
Requirements for the procurement superintendent are:
  • Degree qualification in law, business, commerce or economics
  • Minimum of 10 years procurement experience
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the mining industry
  • Project management or contract management exposure
  • Strong leadership skills with experience leading a team of professionals
  • Demonstrated strong practical knowledge of business improvement methodology
 
This is a Residential role on a 5/2 basis.
