Project Metallurgist - Copper Concentrator

Our Client is seeking an experienced Project Metallurgist for their Copper Concentrator Department. This position reports to the Metallurgical Superintendent and is offered on a permanent residential basis.

Key responsibilities of this role include;
  • Actively promote and maintain a high level of safety performance through application of Sites Safety Policies and Procedures
  • Ensure that all work undertaken on the Mine lease is of the highest standard, and where applicable, conforms with or exceeds statutory requirements
  • Support and encourage reporting of any potential risk events
  • Promote and support environmental Policies and procedures
  • Initiate and drive plant flowsheet improvement projects
  • Manage plant capital projects focused on improvements in plant performance
  • Coordinate and conduct plant test-work aimed at continuous plant improvement
  • Provide technical support to the operations, maintenance, metallurgical and management teams
  • Be part of an effective team, both within the Metallurgy Section and the wider Copper Concentrator Group
  • Participate in ongoing training and development within the team
The ideal candidate will possess:
  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in the fields of metallurgy,  minerals processing, chemical engineering or equivalent
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in minerals processing operations
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Be highly self-motivated and keen to learn
  • The ability to perform without supervision
  • Work effectively in a team environment
  • Be safety conscious and environmentally aware
