Description and Desired Qualifications

  • Our Laborer job will provide you with the opportunity to work on exciting, large scale construction projects. You should be a self motivated, detail oriented professional with experience in road and bridge construction.

Our Laborers:

  • Load, unload, and identify materials, machinery, and tools, and distribute them to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications.
  • Store and stack material
  • Provide assistance to craft workers Read and interpret plans, instructions, and specifications to determine work activities
  • Signal equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials
  • Tend pumps, compressors, and generators to provide power for tools, machinery, and equipment, or to heat and move materials.
  • Lubricate machinery, equipment, or parts. Position, align, or level machines, equipment, or structures
  • Clean and prepare construction sites to eliminate possible hazards.
  • Clean tools, equipment, machinery & work areas
  • Perform "stick-picking", shoveling, compacting and back filling excavations
  • Erect and disassemble scaffolding, shoring, braces, ramps, and other temporary structures
  • Operate hand and power tools.
  • Operate power construction equipment, hoist or winch 
Additional Laborer Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities: 
  • Knowledge of construction machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance

Physical Demand/Work Environment:

  • The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate with other employees. The employee must regularly lift and move up to fifty (50) pounds and occasionally lifts and moves up to seventy (70) pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to extreme weather conditions. Employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places, extreme cold or heat and high noise levels. Employee will work in an environment where there is risk that they will be exposed to toxic, caustic and/or hazardous chemicals, fumes or airborne particles. Workers are required to wear personal protective equipment while on the job. The work generally requires routine walking, sitting, standing, squatting, climbing, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching and carrying items. An individual will be required to work the majority of hours in a construction environment and will need to be able to quickly respond to a change in work demands.

Basic Qualifications
