Manager, Project Management Office (PMO)

  • [Company] is seeking a Manager, Project Management Office (PMO). This position will reside at the corporate office in Irving, Texas.

Essential Responsibilities and Tasks

  • Financial, Process, Stakeholder, Resource, Risk, Vendor, Quality, and Training Management
  • Alignment of project pipeline and IT resources to ensure on-time, on-budget, with quality project execution.
  • Oversight of current IT projects throughout Lehigh Hanson NAM operations.
  • Compliance to Lehigh-Hanson specific methodology for all projects, including management of steering committee meetings, deliverable sign-off, PCR’s, stakeholders, and assisting PM’s go align their projects to the methodology.
  • Employ PMO techniques to ensure project portfolio has been properly evaluated for risk and ensure appropriate risk mitigation plans are appropriate.
  • Training/communication/awareness in an organized and routine manner for all Lehigh Hanson Project Managers, including a program for new appointees. This also includes curriculum development.
  • Delivery of communication vehicles which drive transparency of projects and project portfolio into the business leadership which builds relationship and trust.
  • Metrics will be created and maintained, with feedback to and from key Lehigh Hanson Stakeholders.
  • Evaluate the management of a project and identify the areas (Charter, Scope, Staff, Resource, Schedule, Risk and Finance) that either require additional definition or are not being sufficiently managed.
  • Responsible for building up the skill base individually and collectively of the worldwide collection of those staff entrusted with project management. These staff may extend beyond IT, and include business unit or administrative employees assigned to a project.
  • Accountable for understanding the status of active projects, and hence responsible for raising appropriate concerns as needed to his supervisor.
  • Perform other job-related duties, as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and/or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in a related IT field and 10 or more years of relevant IT work experience, to include project management experience, and 5 years’ experience directing staff and software vendors. Master’s Degree preferred but not required.
  • At least five (5) years’ experience with full P&L responsibility.
  • Proven track record of major project success (>1M USD). Must be able to present, articulate, and verify projects.
  • PMI Certification (optional)
  • Direct SAP experience preferred but not required.
  • May be required to work on call 24/7 and as required to ensure projects on-time/on-budget.
