Geologist I

Position Description

• This position is responsible for providing geosciences support for maximizing economic recovery from producing properties & development of new properties.  Receives training in various aspects of geosciences.  Completes geosciences assignment of limited scope & complexity.  Will be responsible for the accurate characterization & development of oil & gas reserves at SACROC and in the various horizons above and below the unitized interval, specifically the Strawn, the "Cisco Sands", the Wolfcamp Shale, and the Glorietta-Clearfork zones.  This level is viewed as a developing role.

Position Requirements

• Knowledge of basic geosciences principles.  Performs routine technical tasks to expand knowledge & experience.  Provide straightforward solutions to problems.  Follows prescribed procedures and conducts analysis to develop design options or recommendations.  Work on a small portion of a larger project.  Works under direct supervision, but displays initiative and moves toward requiring less supervision.  Some travel to field operations required.  Working after hours, nights, weekends, holidays as needed.
