Application Engineer - Underground Mining Specialist

Tasks

• Support the major underground mining accounts and technically support key end users with PCD tool use
• Understand customers' business, technology and product requirements and appropriately match Kennametal tooling solutions, products and services to meet customer needs
• Exceed customer expectations relative to Kennametal service levels and technical know-how and value added services
• Understand and utilize company resources such as the Global Drawing Warehouse and the Knowledge Center
• Show continuous improvements in technical, product and selling skills
• Maintain high impact customer relationships with current accounts to expand market share

Requirements:

• A Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering education preferred
• Five plus years of successful field or manufacturing experience in the underground mining industry preferred, but not required
• Experience working in extensive technical manufacturing environment
• Proficient in identifying and assessing customer needs
• Competent in understanding and communicating all products and technical information; able to read CAD drawings, blueprints, etc.
• Competent in using computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc.
• Able to work independently with little supervision
• Well developed interpersonal skills enabling teamwork and clear communication.
