Application Engineer - Underground Mining Specialist
Tasks
- Support the major underground mining accounts and technically support key end users with PCD tool use
- Understand customers' business, technology and product requirements and appropriately match Kennametal tooling solutions, products and services to meet customer needs
- Exceed customer expectations relative to Kennametal service levels and technical know-how and value added services
- Understand and utilize company resources such as the Global Drawing Warehouse and the Knowledge Center
- Show continuous improvements in technical, product and selling skills
- Maintain high impact customer relationships with current accounts to expand market share
Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or manufacturing engineering education preferred
- Five plus years of successful field or manufacturing experience in the underground mining industry preferred, but not required
- Experience working in extensive technical manufacturing environment
- Proficient in identifying and assessing customer needs
- Competent in understanding and communicating all products and technical information; able to read CAD drawings, blueprints, etc.
- Competent in using computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, etc.
- Able to work independently with little supervision
- Well developed interpersonal skills enabling teamwork and clear communication.
