Intermediate Accountant

Our client a well established and successful public mining company is looking for a stellar candidate to join there finance team as an Intermediate Accountant.

The Intermediate Accountant will report to the Corporate Controller and be responsible for the following:

• Period end journal entries and reconciliations
• Perform full cycle accounts payable
• Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement variance analysis
• Assistance in the generation of accounting reconciliations and working papers to support the budgeting and financial reporting process
• Assist with the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements

Job Description:

The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of accounting experience
• Experience in a publicly reported company environment
• Experience in the mining industry would be considered an asset
• Strong accounting systems and Excel experience
• Detail oriented, not afraid to roll-up sleeves and do what is required
• Excellent communication skills both written and oral
