Employee Relations Specialist

Our company has an exciting opportunity for an experienced and energetic Employee Relations Specialist to join our Perth-based Employee Relations team. Reporting to the Employee Relations Manager, you will be responsible for:
  • Providing effective consultation and advice to both operations and projects on industrial relations issues, including interpretation of industrial instrument, modern awards and employment and related legislation
  • Working with the ER team to research and develop employee relations policies, procedures and strategies on workplace issues and industrial relations matters
  • Ensuring productive working relationships with stakeholders
  • Co-ordinating ER/IR management with EPCM and integrated project management teams to facilitate effective ER management on projects including coordinating all reporting
  • Assisting the Employee Relations Manager implement and continually develop the ER strategy and policy
  • Undertaking contractor evaluation and compliance
  • Preparing enterprise agreements and other workplace instruments
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable workplace laws and regulations
While this position is based in Perth, you will be required to travel to operational and project locations throughout Western Australia as required.

Key selection criteria:
  • At least 5-7 years experience as an ER specialist preferably within the resources or construction sectors
  • Thorough knowledge and experience of the industrial relations regulatory framework and other employment legislation
  • Strong awareness of current employee relations dynamics and prospective issues and trends
  • Proven ability to form sound working relationships at all levels, working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated capacity to work autonomously and to reliably meet task deadlines in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Sound strategic thinking and analytical skills, strong communication skills and a high standard of integrity and professionalism
