Gold Room / Day Services Supervisor

(Position/Purpose)

Coordinate and Supervise all duties associated with the Gold Room and Day Crew, while ensuring health, safety environmental and community relations standards are set and maintained. Ensure adherence to statutory requirements as a minimum standard.

Job Condition 

  • Working hours: 10 hours per day (06.00hrs to 17.00hrs)
  • Roster: 8 weeks on / 4 weeks off

Purpose of this job description is to describe the general and specific duties of the Gold Room Day Services Supervisor

Safety and Environment

  • Be familiar with and understand the principles of our clients Environmental Policy
  • Report any situation, event or incident that has affected or has the potential to harm the environment to your Supervisor, the Environment Coordinator or the Resident Manager
  • Demonstrate an understanding of our client’s safety policy and maintain an understanding of the main principles
  • Maintain and support procedures and work practices aimed at preventing accidents or injuries
  • Regularly audit your work environment
  • Promote a high level of safety awareness.

Teamwork

  • Coordinate and deliver training sessions as required
  • Create a team environment by working cooperatively and productively with others to achieve common goals
  • Actively participate in team meetings by sharing ideas and contributing to discussions

Position Responsibilities

The Gold Room / Day Services Supervisor, is responsible for the following

  • Provide a safe and hazard free work place. Reduce risk of incident
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the work place and participate in safety initiatives across site
  • Comply with legal obligations, our client’s environmental policies and procedures
  • Comply with our client’s safety procedures and policies
  • Conduct training, assessments and record keeping for all Processing Operators
  • Report all safety and environmental incidents / accidents and near misses
  • Conduct Safety meetings as scheduled
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in systems and processes
  • Initiate work orders for all maintenance and repairs, approve work orders for own shift and refer remainder to Processing Superintendent
  • Recommend repairs of any section in the processing department and recommend any total shutdowns
  • Identify and take advantage of opportunities. Ensuring that the day to day production objectives and schedules are achieved in accordance with metallurgical guidelines and established grade controls and recovery rates
  • Ensure Day shift allocation lists and rosters to provide work rotation and variety to employees in order to develop their experience and expertise
  • Regular formal and informal communication with the Day crew so that all members are aware of the aims, intentions, objectives and progress of the project and are able to identify with and contribute towards the achievement
  • Performance management of the operational group
  • Comply with our clients Security procedures
  • Maintain a high level of Housekeeping inside the Gold Room
  • Maintain a high level of housekeeping around the processing plant
  • Conduct weekly Safety meetings with Day Crew
  • Manage Process Mobile Machinery
  • Daily Tailings Storage Facilities and Raw Water Dam Inspections
