Public Information Officer-G40

Responsibilities

  • The Public Information Specialist shall have full access to all of the project details that may be relevant to the public, public agencies, emergency service providers, businesses, media, and other interested parties. The Public Information Specialist shall share information with the owner continually throughout the project and provide necessary news and information to the public via news publications, reports, internet, and presentations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications or related major.
  • Minimum of five years of recent experience coordinating information on large public construction projects and handling work of a confidential nature.
  • Excellent command of English grammar, spelling and composition, including writing for the public, news media, and internet sites.
  • Strong public speaking skills, including presenting information to external stakeholders.
  • Experience with developing and producing maps, charts, graphs, diagrams, and other visual images, preferably using InDesign and Adobe Photoshop.
  • Experience developing, implementing, and measuring the results of communication plans and strategic messaging.
  • Experience with coordinating media relations.
  • Experience with developing and implementing public involvement and community relations programs.
  • Familiar with floating bridge construction terminology.
