Production Supervisor

Job Summary:

• We are currently seeking a Production Supervisor at the Nucor-Hertford facility

Essential Functions:

• The Production Supervisor is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of hourly production workers in the yard at our plant.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

• Implements and coordinates safety objectives, enforces safety regulations
• Coordinates work flowby assigning job orders and duties to employees to meet production schedules
• Analyzes work load and production schedule to determine worker hour requirements
• Oversees operation of heavy equipment such as cranes, bulldozers, graders, etc.
• Interprets job orders to workers, and assigns duties
• Maintains customer contact and public relations
• Enforces all safety and company policies, is responsible for all safety, and environmental issues at plant level

Requirements:
Basic Qualifications:

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 1 year of experience managing an hourly workforce
• Effective leadership and communication skills, with both customers and internal staff
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to use PC and Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc), and other business software packages
• Working knowledge of modern management techniques and continuous improvement practice

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate or Bachelor's Degree
• Experience in a union environment
• Steel industry experience
• Scrap yard and screening experience
