Continuous Improvement

Position Summary and Primary Responsibilities

  • The Continuous Improvement Leader’s role is to identify, lead, and execute the
  • CI/LeanSigma® strategy within their assigned segment(s) to deliver bottom line, quantified
  • results.  This includes business assessment, planning, facilitation, execution of Kaizen
  • events, and sustainment of standard work and procedures.  The CI Leader will drive the
  • cultural transformation through the business building effective matrix teams and driving
  • involvement and talent multiplication.  The role will include extensive LeanSigma®
  • training and certification from our consulting partner.  The CI Leader reports directly to the
  • Director of Continuous Improvement with dotted line to Division Senior Management.  The CI
  • Leader also functions as the principal point of contact with the TBM Lead Consultant. 

Basic Qualifications
Education

  • Bachelor's Degree

Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in operations, process improvement, or related function

Other Requirements

  • Previous Lean or Six Sigma experience with proven results

Preferred Qualifications 
Education or Experience

  • Certified Lean Leader
  • Bachelor’s of Science in Engineering Discipline

Interpersonal Skills

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical data.
  • Ability to write in a clear and concise manner.
  • Ability to effectively present information to stakeholders at all levels of the organization (floor to CEO) and respond to questions.
  • Ability to effectively facilitate meetings, train associates, lead Kaizen events, and execute plans.
  • Ability to constantly communicate successes and plan to the organization driving involvement and cultural transformation.
  • Ability to work effectively and learn from consultant resources utilizing entire portfolio to enhance team/individual skills.

Strategic Planning

  • Ability to analyze local business effectively and define/communicate a clear direction and go-forward plan both short and long term. 
  • Ability to define goals, metrics, and levels of success for internal/external customers.
  • Ability to execute plan individually and by utilizing a cross-functional team to meet/exceed business goals and effective involvement of consultant resources.

Team Building

  • Ability to define team/staffing requirements within matrix environment.
  • Ability to build a matrix team focusing on talent multiplication and utilization of individuals experience/background.
  • Ability to coach others to enhance their personal performance setting focused targets and expectations. 
  • Ability to provide proper reward and recognition to individuals/teams. 

Change Management/Problem Solving

  • Ability to provide decisive leadership and team facilitation in the face of adversity - define tasks clearly, identify and coordinate resources, and execute CI go-forward plan.
  • Ability to quickly identify barriers to progress and execute team plan for success in/out of specific events.
  • Ability to coordinate successful Kaizen events with quantified success including assessment and effective sustainment of standard work. 

Other Skills

  • Computer – Microsoft Office, basic Statistical Tools
  • Mathematical skills
