Our client is one of Australias largest transport service providers. Within this organization a new role has become available for a Senior Systems Safety Specialist. Our client strives to deliver safe, clean and reliable railway passenger services to the people of NSW.
Following state integration our client continues to promote an integrated approach to safety and environment management through the maintenance and delivery of the environment safety health management system (ESHMS), to ensure the safety of infrastructure, rollingstock and people.
To achieve this outcome, the Safety & Environment Group promotes visible and active leadership to encourage the development of a sustainable safety culture throughout the organization.
This role reports to the Principal Safety Change Advisor. While working in this role you will have a dual reporting process. On a professional administrative matters, specialists report to the principal safety change adviser and on project specific matters, specialists report to the project management.
Responsibilities within this role:
- Provide specialist capability for the consideration of safety and risk management within assigned projects
- Prepare and /or review specialist safety risk and safety change documentation that are applicable to assigned projects
- Provide specialist capability for the conduct of the full range of risk assessment related activities and associated analysis
- Provide specialist safety and risk consulting services to operational and project management personnel
- Conduct independent verification of safety and risk reports /assessments that identify significant safety concerns
- Provide guided learning, mentoring and peer support to operational and project personnel in relation to safety assurance and safety risk.
To qualify for this position you must have graduate qualification in a relevant discipline. Our client will also look at overseas candidates provided they meet sponsorship requirements and have relevant experience. Previous experience working as part of a consultancy providing business to business safety consultancy is an added benefit. You must have a minimum of 5 years experience. This role requires the successful candidate to demonstrate professional experience and diverse knowledge of risk based safety assurance gained at a senior level or within or as a consultant to, major projects associated with a complex, high reliability operating environment
In return for you skill and hard work our client will be offering a basic salary upto $110,000 plus super, relocation etc for the right candidate.
