Technical Sales Representative

We are looking for an individual who is passionate about developing new business opportunities, selling and delivering excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have a solid sales track record and experience within the mining, sugar or paper processing industries

Minimum Requirements

  • Matric or equivalent qualification
  • Qualified Artisan - Mechanical Trade with 3 years’ post qualification hands on experience is preferred;
  • N4 Mechanical field of study is preferred;
  • Technically orientated with strong product knowledge; 
  • Ability to read technical drawings;
  • 5 years sales experience in a technical / mechanical field preferably in a mining or process industries field is essential;
  • Computer literate (MS Office);
  • Strong selling and technical abilities;
  • Confident and outgoing personality with effective communication skills; 
  • Self starter and highly motivated.
  • Must be prepared to relocate or currently residing in KZN. 
  • Travelling about 75% of the time.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide strong and active field representation of the products and services with Industrial Distribution partners and end user customers.
  • Maintain a strong presence in the marketplace and execute tactics and actions to achieve sales and profit targets.
  • Apply a consultative selling methodology to establish the company as a friction management provider who assists its partners and end user customers in meeting their own business objectives.
  • Build strong relationships with these accounts to grow sales and market penetration. 
  • Relationship development with current and potential customers.
  • Seek and feedback market intelligence to the business.
  • Maintenance of customer information database on Sales Force
  • Automation platform.
  • Produce appropriate weekly and monthly reporting. 
  • Travel as required by the job.
