Environment Manager

Seabridge Gold, a Canadian exploration company is seeking an Environmental Affairs Manager in Yellowknife, NWT. Seabridge holds a 100% interest in several North American gold projects. The Company's principal assets are the Courageous Lake gold project located in Canada's Northwest Territories and KSM property located near Stewart, British Columbia, Canada.

Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work with the Courageous Lake project team to advance the Courageous Lake Project through the NWT Environmental Assessment process.  This will include extensive meetings with Territorial and Federal Regulators, coordinating and providing expertise and direction on the permitting and technical  design requirements to the Project team.  Experience with, and an ability to effectively engage with Aboriginal groups is also required.

Qualifications:
  • Post secondary degree in a field related to Natural Resource Management (e.g., Env. Science, Biology, Forestry etc.) with a minimum of 10 years experience; OR
  • M.Sc degree in a field related to Natural Resource Management and 5 years experience.
  • Experience in mining, project management and  the MVRMA environmental legislation are an asset.  
  • Skills required for this Yellowknife-based position include the ability to travel, ability to supervise, coordinate and work well with others, be motivated and a self-starter with good communication and computer skills.
