The client is a substantial industrial engineering manufacturing group with multiple international facilities, market specific product sectors and an HQ in northern UK. This is a senior appointment carrying a broad and interesting mix of responsibilities reporting to and working closely with the group’s Global Engineering Director.
Primary focus will be on leading the engineering function of their UK manufacturing facility and through a team of 40 dedicated mixed discipline engineering professionals you will lead product development, ensuring strict adherence to a phase-gate development process, technical product support, product upgrades, customer applications and programme management. Additionally you will work with the Global Engineering Director on product development strategy and ensure that engineering systems and product development tools are world class.
The client is looking to appoint a senior level individual with both the headroom and ambition to grow within the group.
You will need to be a high-level graduate engineer and probably a post graduate qualification. You will have built your engineering experience in developing products and processes in a world-class engineering environment.
Product areas of interest to the client include power transmission and motion control, electro mechanical and hydro mechanical transmission systems, highly specified precision components and sub-assemblies. Specific sector experience includes renewables, heavy automotive, rail, marine, mining and power generation applications. In addition to strong technical competencies you will need to be a modern, pro-active leader and enjoy the broad range of internal and external interfaces including international customers that this role offers.
