JV Driver is currently looking for a Sr. HR Advisor (Recruitment Lead) for its Leduc, Alberta office. The Sr. Advisor is responsible for assisting with the recruiting efforts by and assisting and providing mentorship to the Recruiters.
The main duties and responsibilities for this position include:
- Providing solid mentorship and leadership to the Recruiters;
- Act as a sounding board on barriers to effective recruitment;
- Liaise directly with project supervision in determining project needs;
- Maintaining communication with project supervision to ensure recruitment is fulfilling project needs and identify problem areas;
- Providing clarification and help with the development of recruitment strategies for each project;
- Providing guidance and leadership on recruitment techniques;
- Meeting daily with recruiters to monitor progress and resolve or provide assistance with problems affecting the new hire process (e.g. determination of suitable candidates, answer questions on verification of hours for non-compulsory trades, provide direction on matters pertaining to the collective agreements, etc.);
- Determining priorities in recruiting process;
- Assisting with the recruitment of potential candidates;
- Performing follow up telephone calls to insure candidate is in receipt of and aware of all hiring details;
- Assisting with follow up calls to answer potential candidate questions related to the hiring process;
- Assisting with cold calling of potential candidates when required;
- Monitoring the applicant database tracking system for accuracy, timeliness and update candidate's profiles as required;
- Providing feedback to management and the Recruiters on individual and group performance;
- Working directly with recruiter(s) to resolve issues affecting their performance;
- Managing the drug and alcohol program, including return to work agreements;
- Handling all of the drug and alcohol invoices, making sure they get approved for payment.
The ideal candidate will have:
· a post-secondary degree from an accredited university in Human Resources or a relevant discipline and/or equivalent experience;
· a minimum of five (5) years' experience in a Recruitment role, where high volume recruitment was a major function of the job;
· experience working in the construction industry and/or in a unionized environment is desired;
· CHRP designation would be considered an asset;
· proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook;
· experience working with applicant databases;
· excellent written and verbal communication skills;
· an ability to multitask and work well under pressure;
· good organizational skills with strict attention to details;
· ability to deal effectively with different levels of the organization, project management, recruiters and craft employees;
· a working knowledge of Collective Agreements;
· reliable and dependable with flexibility in working hours and work schedule.
