Learning and Development Manager

Job Description:          

  • Responsible for leading, developing and implementing the career development initiatives for Empire's technical work force. Work closely with managers, supervisors, and employees, providing guidance on appropriately scheduling and planning development activities to maximize attendance; monitors efficiency and effectiveness in learning and development services delivery. Focus on effective systems targeted at developing [Company]  technical work force so that employees receive required training and skill advancement, and [Company] achieves retention of talent, and company goals are met by meeting customer needs for skilled labor.

Requirements:

  • Functional expertise in assessment, evaluation, and training needs analysis, organization systems, and internal consulting.
  • Skilled at making clear and persuasive presentations. Builds credibility quickly with all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work in and manage ambiguity, deal with issues or problems, work independently, drive for results and stay focused to accomplish objectives with a sense of urgency.
  • Ability to think strategically and systemically.
  • Ability to be flexible, creative and can grasp complex concepts and execute ideas.
  • Motivated by challenges.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills with individuals or in groups.
  • Thorough understanding of technician skill sets by industry.
  • Must be able to meet all safety requirements for applicable safety policies and use of all required safety equipment.
  • Must have acceptable attendance to meet all company standards and requirements.
  • Proof of high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Human Resource Management or business degree preferred or equivalent experience particularly in the specialty of Human Resource Organization Development [OD] and/or Training.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a corporate learning function managing the design, development, and implementation and using metrics of talent management processes and learning and development programs.
  • Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English. Bi-lingual in Spanish a plus.

This position is designated as a "Safety-Sensitive Position".
