Responsibilities:

• The Frederick, MD office of ECS seeks an entry-level environmental scientist with an emphasis on Phase I environmental site assessments. Other duties may include involvement with ESA Phase II studies and  UST related activities, and depending on your background you may also be involved in natural resource service areas such as wetland delineations, groundwater and soil investigations, geologic and risk assessments, hydrogeologic studies, remediation system design, and other aspects of industrial hygiene services such as indoor air quality [lead, asbestos and mold studies], and health & safety.
• You will conduct field studies, prepare reports, interface with clients and handle related office duties. You will also be involved with client maintenance and business development, proposals and presentations. The position will be 60/40, field/office based. ECS will provide training and assistance to the hired entry level staff scientist to seek accreditation as asbestos and lead based paint inspectors among other disciplines. The ideal candidate will come from the mid-Atlantic region and has the potential to grow into a project manager.

Qualifications:

• 0-2 years of experience.
• BS Degree in geology, biology, chemistry or a discipline related to environmental science.  Recent grads are encouraged to apply.
• Recent graduates should have some previous experience as an intern/co-op in a related environmental position involving ESA's.
• Proficiency in oral and written communication.
• Some project management and client development skills.
• Local candidates with some knowledge of MD environmental regulations strongly preferred. Relocation will not be provided for this position.
