Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Responsibilities:
- In this position you will be involved with management of geotechnical engineering projects and explorations, which consists of performing boring layouts, clearing utilities, supervising drill rigs, performing geophysical surveys, classifying soils, assigning lab testing, and preparing geotechnical reports. Projects include a wide variety of sites, from residential developments to large industrial facilities, and public sector projects. Additional responsibilities may include assisting senior staff in marketing, preparing proposals, maintaining regular client contacts, managing budgets, proposals and invoices. While this is a technically focused position, there will be interaction with clients and candidates should have business development experience. Local candidates with established contacts in the Northern Virginia/Washington DC area strongly preferred.
Qualifications:
- 10+ years of Geotechnical Engineering or similar experience.
- BSCE required; MS with a concentration in geotechnical engineering strongly preferred.
- VA PE license required or ability to achieve within three months from date of hire.
- Proficiency in oral and written communication.
- Strong geotechnical engineering, project management and business development skills.
