Sr. Field Technician

Responsibilities

  • The Sr. Technician will be responsible for assisting in the timely and accurate completion of small scale tasks of average complexity and/or assist in the completion of portions of projects that are of above average complexity.  Within the project team, the Sr. Technician will report to the onsite Program Manager and assist in resolving day-to-day problems, primarily of a site operations nature, on the project.  The Sr. Technician will provide a competent and expeditious service to onsite scientific and engineering staff and suggest ways to improve the overall quality of projects.  The Sr. Technician will also have daily interaction with the onsite client throughout the execution of a task as so directed by those in supervision.

The Sr. Technician is responsible for duties that include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Provide the highest level of assistance with environmental investigations, studies, evaluations, audits, assessments and inspections;
  • Produce own work in a highly efficient manner as well as coordinate assignments with other project team personnel in order to complete large scale, complex field projects as well as multiple, small scale field projects;
  • Collect and monitor test samples and gather field data in a highly efficient manner by following established procedures;
  • Apply a superior knowledge of testing and sampling fundamentals;
  • Provide the highest level of proficiency in the operation and maintenance of testing and sampling equipment;
  • Provide unique skill in the operation and maintenance of testing and sampling equipment;
  • Submit completed test results and data reduction analysis in a highly efficient manner;
  • Provide assistance with report preparation as well as various aspects of complex, complicated reports and contribute to the production of multiple reports, thus improving the final product;
  • Assume responsibility for participating in a wide range of field duties;
  • Assume scheduling responsibilities as so directed by those in supervision;
  • Assist in the preparation of task authorizations associated with overall site operations and maintenance;
  • Coordinate with subcontractors in the execution of tasks associated with overall site operations and maintenance (i.e., HVAC, lawn maintenance, snow removal, etc.);
  • Assume overall responsibility for maintaining site grounds and identifying areas where issues may exist;
  • Interest in working at a field office location with a mix of field and office work on a daily basis;
  • Adhere to strict health and safety requirements in conducting all work;
  • Adhere to the policies and standards set forth in the Firm's Quality System documents;

Skills and Qualifications

  • High School Diploma and 15+ years of relevant experience; or Technical Certificate and 12+ years of relevant experience; or Associates Degree and 7-10 years of relevant experience;
  • Have the capacity to obtain N-2 operator’s license for future O&M responsibility of onsite pump and treat system; and
  • Knowledge of New Jersey regulations for implementation of field tasks.
