Planner - Civil Construction

One of South Africa’s heavy Civil Construction Companies are urgently on the lookout for the skills and expertise of a Planner with EXPAT status for a project in the northern part of the DRC.. Please note that this is for a 18 month contract.

Minimum Requirements

• R 385 000 - R 580 000, CTC, P/A   (With expats benefits, to be discussed at interview)

• 18 month contract

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepares WBS for work to be performed as defined by the contract.
• Produce S-curves for overall project and area project progress.
• Prepares and maintains the schedule status reports.
• Working closely with the respective Project Manager and the project team, update the project execution schedule and project objectives.
• Monitor the project's progress against the relevant base line, reporting on deviations and making appropriate recommendations for corrective action.
• Update execution schedule, base lining, monitoring and reviewing of progress for the respective project.
• Incorporate relevant detail from Sub contractors' execution schedules into master project schedule, as and when these become available.
• Monitoring Subcontractors
• Issue weekly/monthly project action items.

Education & experience:

• Complete high school education.
• B-Tech is a an advantage
• Appropriate technical qualification.
• A minimum of 5 years' experience in project planning
• Relevant construction experience in regards to mining infrastructure is necessary.

Technical:

• In-depth experience in and knowledge of CCS.
• Knowledge of the Primavera Planning system, highly desirable.
• Sound knowledge of site environments and workflow requirements
• Good management skills
• Advanced knowledge of different types of contracts and the general conditions of contracts.
• Good understanding of principles of project management.
• Good computer literacy skills, in MS Office (Word, Excel & Outlook).
• Good English language skills, both verbal and written.
• Good numeric skills.
