Human Resources Clerk

The following position has become available within one of the largest opencast mining contractors in Africa.

Job Summary:

Co-ordinate, support and administer general HR functions and render specific administrative support to internal and external customers. Provide assistance to the HR Officer in respect of all people management processes and procedures.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that standard H.R. procedures are adhered to on site.
  • Assist the Human Resources Officer in determining other training needs.
  • Co-ordinate training courses.
  • Inform all HOD’s well in advance of any employees required to attend training courses.
  • Adhere to the recruitment and selection policies and procedures.
  • Update all personnel records.
  • Statistical reports and information as and when required.
  • Record keeping and filing.
  • Conditions of Employment document.
  • Plan and co-ordinate leave schedule and inform HR Manager of leave schedule at least a month in advance and display on notice board.
  • Ensure all disciplinary sanctions are recorded and relevant information sent to the HR Manager.
  • Perform such other duties of a similar or related nature as may be assigned by Management from time to time and any reasonable job assigned to you by the HR Manager.

Academic Qualifications:

  • Grade 12
  • Relevant HR qualification

Experience:

  • At least three years related work experience in the HR environment

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent MS Office skills
  • Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Able to build and maintain effective relationships at all levels within the organisation
  • Meticulous, detailed, well-organized and able to work independently to meet datelines
  • Has a high level of integrity and able to work with confidential and sensitive information
  • Keeps abreast and up-to-date with HR trends and industry wide development

  • Ensures consistent adherence to ethical standards and organisational values, and the provision of equal opportunities
  • Enforces compliance to standard operating procedures, contractual agreements and safety guidelines, and deal with non-conformance when required.
