Human Resources Manager

The following position has become available within one of the largest opencast mining contractors in Africa.

Job Summary:

  • Responsible to translate the people strategy into practical steps for execution in BU’s or area of functionality. 
  • Responsible for implementing and managing key HR processes, such as workforce planning and resourcing, reward and review, talent pipeline, performance management, succession planning, learning and development, transformation, industrial relations, employee wellbeing, organisational health (culture) and any other related HR processes and practices.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensure effective management of the workforce planning, resourcing and the recruitment and selection process.
  • Responsible for the implementation, management and monitoring of succession management, performance management and learning and development processes.
  • Ensure effective management of all Employee and Industrial Relations processes.
  • Responsible for the implementation and measurement of the organisation’s transformation strategy with a strong focus on the people elements.
  • Responsible for the management of employee data and for analysing and interpreting this data to assist with business decisions.
  • Plays the role of change manager by implementing change initiatives.
  • Responsible for the implementation, management and monitoring of talent management.
  • Drives Skills Development, EE Compliance, Transformation and Corporate Governance.
  • Drives all initiatives to improve employee well being and organisational health.
  • Has to act as a trusted advisor and make strategic and functional contributions to the BU an key client groups.

Academic Qualifications:

  • 5 years related work experience in a senior HR position

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Thorough knowledge, understanding and application of the best practice Human Resources.
  • Management / Leadership experience.
  • Business Acumen and thorough understanding of the integration of the people management value chain within business.
  • Excellent communication skills and innate ability to network consult and influence at executive level both within the organization and in the broader perspective.
  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal skills.
  • Self-motivated individual with personal resilience, energy and drive.
  • Display up-to-date, in depth knowledge of HR practices policies, processes and systems as well as extensive understanding of the company’s business and operations.
