Production Technician

Proud South African firm providing condition monitoring services, solutions and technology for the Technical industry is in dire need of a Production Technician.

• The successful candidate must have experience with companies in the mining, manufacturing and engineering industries. 
• The duties of the incumbent would be to successfully plan, schedule and execute equipment production, in conformance to the companies quality assurance standards and just in time principals.

Requirements:

• Matric / Grade 12 certificate
• Formal tertiary electronic qualification S4 National Diploma or similar in Electronics
• Work experience of at least 2 years in an electronic systems production environment using ISO 9000 certified or similar processes
• The setting up of an ISO 9000 certified or similar electronic system production process
• Analogue and digital electronic circuit diagram reading and interpretation skills
• Analogue and digital electronic circuit debugging and fault diagnostic skills.
• Process management skills - experience in setting up procedures.
• Detailed working knowledge of standard electronic laboratory test equipment
• Production planning
• Material procurement
• Manage manufacturing sub-contractors
• Maintain production data-packs and QA documentation
• Production Quality Assurance and Quality Control
• Product failure root cause analysis and repair of electronic units to component level
• Analysis and experimental design to identify product and production process reliability risks
• Update product design requirements and or production process requirements to mitigate product reliability risks and issues
• Liaison with the accounts department
• Manufacture of products and related electronic units in the workshop
• The testing of electronic units making use of existing test procedures and equipment
• Programming of manufactured products where required e.g. Hand held programmer, Canary Control board
• Giving input on improved testing procedures and equipment
• Attend to any other production related tasks that the Production Engineer may deem necessary
• Identify and mature multiple manufacturing sub-contractors to diversify the production outsourcing model
• Shipment of equipment
• Manage the workshop and store
• Assist with the installation of equipment
• Assist on maintenance visits to repair faulty installations
• Assist with various other field service tasks when needed
• Person must reside in the Witbank or surrounding area.
