Shift Manager

Job Description

• Administering the [Company] safety program to ensure a safe work environment within the operating facility.
• Utilizing management skills to supervise, direct, train, and coordinate the efforts of experienced technicians, craftsmen and project planners to repair and maintain mechanical equipment to keep the operations running at maximum efficiency with minimal interruption. Use technical knowledge and maintenance history of mechanical equipment to develop and implement preventative maintenance programs.
• Performing administrative activities such as scheduling crews, completing production reports, conducting safety conversations, creating presentations in PowerPoint and compiling other reporting as necessary by the operating facility. Be trained in electrical equipment repair and able to read blueprints in addition to a working knowledge of mechanical equipment basics.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma/GED required.
• Associates or Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Technology or Engineering Degree preferred; or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 2 years working experience in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Experience/knowledge with vibration analysis, thermography, and/or machine alignment & failure analysis is a plus.
• Manager must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed by plant and capable of working as high as 100 feet as required via stairs or platforms.
• Must have working knowledge of software/hardware diagnostic systems training.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a supervisor working in a union manufacturing/industrial environment.
• Good communication, interpersonal and problem solving skills are critical.
