Water Management Analyst

Job Duties:

  • Analyze the development schedule and perform extended fresh water planning.
  • Design cost effective fresh and reuse water transfer line route plans using GIS software.
  • Develop calculated water volume plans, availability, and identify reuse needs and commitments to overcome localized volume shortages to fulfill future area water needs.
  • Provide fresh water sourcing and route data to Houston Water Team to assist in long range well planning efforts within Area Development Teams and water infrastructure development with Water Team.
  • Collaborate with field brokers throughout the fresh water route scouting process to address route changes and potential source concerns.
  • Input line route and fresh water source data into a tracking database.
  • Evaluate permit volume restrictions and consult with Operations Engineer on how to best utilize source permits, volume allocations, and permit locations to meet the total volume needs of the Completions Team.
  • Manage freshwater inventories and communicate to Operations Engineer the projected fresh water source volumes for frac water blends.
  • Verify the issuance of ANRC non-riparian permits for planned use of water resources and make proper notifications.
  • GIS scout potential pond sites, private sources, and creek pullouts to be signed and permitted.  Input relevant data into a permit needs spreadsheet.
  • Coordinate with the Sr. Resource Specialist and the Resource Analyst in reviewing source permits, permit amendments, volume allocations and reporting cumulative usage to ensure compliance with ANRC.
  • Assemble the required source permits and distribute to field brokers for display at each fresh water diversion point.
  • Develop strategic water transfers to overcome localized volume shortages to fulfill future area water needs.
  •  Create and distribute final water transfer route maps to Land, Completions and Water Team.
  • Provide both field and office supervision of water transfer operations as required.
  • Communicate with water transfer supervisors and managers on transfer plans and operations throughout the job.
  • Conduct water transfer weekly meeting with water transfer companies and field brokers to address field concerns.
  • Compile a weekly cumulative water transfer route report.
  • Generate various data maps using:  XMap, ArcMap, and Global Mapper CAD.
  • Provide XMap support to contract field personnel.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 2 years’ experience
  • Must be familiar with GIS software, to include but not limited to Arc Map, XMap, and Global Mapper CAD
  • Must be proficient in MS Office software, (Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of ANRC regulations on water use permitting is a plus.
  • Must have the ability to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment.
  • Excellent communication skills required for interaction with both field and management personnel.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a regular full-time basis without restrictions.
