Software Engineer/Programmer- Heavy Machinery

Description:

  • Seeking a motivated software engineer to work with a small team that produces control software for heavy machinery.
  • The markets include, but are not limited to: mining, construction, landfill and agriculture.
  • Fulltime position to be based at the company's home office in Maysville, Kentucky.
  • The software is written in C++ so candidates should have some knowledge of the C++ language as well as understand concepts such as object oriented design and optimized memory usage. This is an entry-level position but the team is small so responsibilities will range from maintaining an existing code base to the development of new features and assisting in the development of new products

Experience/Education

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field or the equivalent in experience
  • Strong knowledge of the C++ language
  • Strong knowledge of Object Oriented design and development
  • Prior experience working on a large software project is preferable, but not required
  • Ability to work with end users to solve problems and develop new features
  • Willingness to travel to worldwide locations, sometimes with short notice
  • Experience with hardware interface is a plus. That is: Seris communications, CAN Bus and Bluetooth
