Technical Area Sales Representative

Basic Function:

  • Generates and maintains critical field level and corporate level relationships with existing customers with a focus on utilizing a strong technical background of artificial lift techniques. Targets potential accounts for market share / revenue growth supported by knowledge of rod lifted production methods

Primary Duties:

  • Directly responsible for presenting technical company products and how they are applied to benefit the customer in lower failure rates, lower lifting cost, lower capital investments, and improved lease operating expenses, while increasing sales for JCPS.
  • Directly responsible for building and maintaining critical relationships with existing and targeted customers within the scope of objectives set by Area Manager and consistent with corporate goals, policies and resources.
  • Directly responsible for growth, revenue and margin performance consistent with corporate goals and objectives.
  • Directly responsible for making available and employing all available resources to existing and potential customers to insure superior level of service.
  • Directly responsible for initiating necessary training to maintain and grow in knowledge of methods of artificial lift.
  • Directly responsible for performance to expense budget guidelines approved by corporate office.
  • Conducts market share surveys and competitive product pricing surveys for specific geographical areas as assigned by Area Manager.
  • Responsible for being consistently aware of competitor activities, strengths and weaknesses and communicating to Sr. Management Team.
  • Responsible for conducting presentations to existing and potential customers as well as corporate management on performance, strategic market positioning, competitive bid opportunities or product / service resources of JCPS.
  • Complete and communicate weekly activity and significant event reports as well as monthly summary reports to Sr. Management Team and Area Managers.
  • Recommends potential additions to product or service offerings to Sr. Management Team by JCPS within the scope of core competencies of company.
  • Assists Area and District Managers as needed or directed on accomplishing requirements of their duties, which may include many different issues or processes.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High degree of technical knowledge of Artificial Lift Equipment evidenced through 8-10 years of experience in Artificial Lift Equipment or equivalent experience in an oil field service environment.
  • Minimum of 12 years education with a BS degree preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Computer literate with good working knowledge of database, Microsoft Office products and how to use them.
  • Ability to put together presentations for customers / potential customers and present in a professional manner.
  • Ability to perform in a team environment.
  • Self-Starting and highly motivated.
  • Excellent people skills and ability to sell.
  • Willing to spend time out of town when necessary with means of personal funding. Expenses to be re-imbursement every two weeks.
  • A combination of the above minimum qualifications will also be considered
