EH&S Manager - LMV Division

Job Description

  • LMV Division Environmental Health & Safety Manager develops, gains key stakeholder buy-in, drives and supports execution of SII EHS strategy and plans within LMV Division, Business Units, locations, projects and field operations in coordination with business unit, location/site management and EHS staff and/or coordinators. Adapts SII EHS strategy/programs to LMV Division needs. Assures compliance with Siemens and governmental requirements and applicable industrial codes through regular inspection, assessment and audit program.
  • Operates in matrix reporting environment. Functional/disciplinary reporting to SII VP EHS and, is a team member of SII EHS Leadership Team.  Actively participates with SII EHS/BCP teams to identify and implement best practices, develop programs and common performance metrics.
  • Responds to, and is accountable to LMV Division President, Leadership Team and Senior Management in developing, executing strategy and tactical plans.  Organizes/facilitates/supports regular (minimum quarterly) EHS Management Reviews with leadership team on targets, performance management and key projects. Ensures communication, coordination and collaboration with management at locations/sites and EHS staffs/coordinators and, provides functional EHS direction to them (with support and guidance from SII functional leaders). Prepares timely analysis and performance reports (monthly, quarterly) to Division management and SII VP EHS and, training on data requirements to Division and location EHS and other staff as needed.
  • Responds to, coordinates and addresses requirements from Global Division EHS Officer(s) in consultation with SII VP EHS and maintains contacts with global division/business unit EHS to best coordinate projects with SII and Division EHS workstreams. 
  • Provides subject matter EHS expertise and hand-on support to Division, Business Units and sites/locations to ensure EHS requirements are addressed. Develops and provides for programs, procedures, guidelines, training, audits, systems and processes for EHS. Identifies, tracks and monitors relevant Siemens and legal EHS requirements, standards and, best practices (internal/external).
  • Ensures EHS performance data is completely and accurately submitted to EHS information systems on time according to reporting deadlines.
Requirements
  • Eight to 10 years demonstrated industrial manufacturing EHS experience, with preference with machine, equipment, sheet metal, large system assembly plants and field/project operations. Expertise in US and State legal compliance and regulatory framework.  Demonstrated experience implementing corporate EHS policies, programs, systems and processes.  Demonstrated experience in EHS Compliance and Management Systems Auditing.  6S Green Belt/LEAN/Kaizen training preferred.  Strong “player/coach” with hands-on approach and experience training line organization on their roles, responsibilities and requirements.
  • Management experience and functional expertise in EHS areas, multi-facility manufacturing experience required. Excellent leadership, collaboration, coaching, motivational, communications, influencing, negotiating and selling skills required.
  • BS in technical, engineering, science, or Environmental/Safety discipline, or advanced degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
