[Company] business operations are divided into four segments focused on the niche markets we serve: Industrial, Energy, Electrical and Engineered Solutions.
  • [Company] (an [Company] company) is a global designer, manufacturer and distributor of custom-engineered electro-mechanical cables and umbilicals, and high-performance synthetic ropes.  [Company] serves a number of diverse markets, including Offshore Oil and Gas, Commercial Diving, Geophysical Survey, Remotely Operated Vehicles, Defense/Aerospace, and Medical.

Business Contribution:

  • [Company] Washington CI / Quality Leader is responsible for overall site management,  production of all products (order to delivery) supply chain management, manufacturing, quality and safety using Continuous Improvement (LEAD) techniques. This position is responsible for the production site and its employees.  This includes developing and executing operating plans to meet monthly, quarterly, annual and overall business and strategic goals.  Safety, quality, OEE, cost and delivery are a few of the key metrics in meeting the company’s goals and customer expectations. Direct reports will include CI / quality leader, operations manager, administrative staff and the supply chain function.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • The Continuous Improvement & Quality Leader had the overall responsibility for the continuous improvement and quality programs within the site.
  • This person will lead the LEAD (Lean Enterprise Across Disciplines) transformation through application of lean principles to rapidly improve quality, on-time delivery, and reduce overall costs.  This person must develop a culture of LEAD throughout workforce, be able to clearly demonstrate where LEAD has impact, show level of enthusiasm, lead by example, generate ownership, and get quick successes.       
  • This person will also manage all elements of the quality assurance and quality control system, to include test and inspection; non-conformance process; root cause/corrective action; quality documentation, and ISO certification.
  • This position will report directly to the site leader with functional reporting responsibility to [Company] Global LEAD Coordinator.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on lean implementation experience with a proven track record for developing, training, and coaching company leadership and employee teams in a continuous improvement environment.
  • Experience driving continuous improvement in both manufacturing and business processes
  • 4-year university degree in engineering, business, or equivalent.
  • Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be an expert in applying and teaching the fundamental lean principles, including, 5S and Visual Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Standard Work, Value Stream Mapping, SMED, Poke Yoke, Flow, and others.
  • Must be able to lead continuous improvement events yielding immediate results.
  • Outstanding group facilitation, training, communication & presentation skills; must be positive, persuasive, and motivating.
  • Be able to plan and manage the lean event process, and liaise with appropriate departments to get full involvement.
  • Ability to train & mentor others on lean principles, and develop and implement company-wide training programs.
  • ISO 9000 system management experience
  • Highly organized project management and budget management.
  • Ability to make autonomous decisions based on thorough understanding business objectives.
  • Proven ability to lead and interact with Senior Management.
  • Strong influencing and relationship-building communication skills.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and globally, identifying synergies between products and/or markets to drive efficiencies.
  • Adept at juggling multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight timelines.
  • Experience managing budgets and working within specified departmental/company processes.
  • Advanced verbal, written and presentation skills.
