Area Sales Manager

Do you feel a rush when acquiring new clients in a new territory? If you are a strong prospector who wants to travel and discover new business opportunities with an exclusive distributor of world-renowned manufacturing products, you need to apply for this opportunity. Based in Winnipeg and reporting to the Vice President of Sales, the Area Sales Manager will be responsible for account management and business development in Manitoba, with the potential for expansion into Western Canada.

In this role, you will work with an award-winning distributor of technical products to original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in the aerospace, agriculture, mining, military and automotive sectors. The role of Area Sales Manager is an exceptional income opportunity, with strong growth potential.

What Will You Do?

  • Develop and implement sales plans for assigned region and related accounts
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with decision makers and centers of influence within all levels of each customer account
  • Articulate the company's vision and value proposition
  • Serve as primary customer contact for technical and business issues for assigned accounts
  • Assist the VP of Sales (as requested) in developing and implementing sales targets, budgets and marketing strategies to secure new clients
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of products, competitors, key customers and targets

Must Haves

  • Direct technical sales experience, ideally to OEMs
  • Passion for business development and territory expansion
  • Exceptional prospecting, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Tactical selling skills and diligence in documenting and tracking client progress
  • Competent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, web-based CRM systems and email programs
  • Experience as a CNC Machinist or post-secondary education in engineering technology a definite asset
