This leading mining contractor is looking for a passionate and skilled environmental specialist to join their organisation at the largest openpit mining project in Australia.
Playing a pivotal role in a large scale mine site housing a community upwards of 3000 employees, this is a key position liaising with the client and project management stakeholders to develop strategies, resolve issues and build working relationships. Key responsibilities:
Coordinating and supervising the activities of the site Environment Team and reporting back to the Environment Manager and Site Management.
Assessing environmental impacts associated with the scope of operations at the Project and identifying management strategies where required.
Provision of technical advice & support for environmental controls & monitoring programmes.
Maintain and support the Minerals Council of Australia Enduring Value & Environmental Management Systems to ISO14001 requirements.
Reporting – site reporting requirements, including monthly reporting and incident reports
Develop and deliver environmental training and awareness programs
This opportunity is ideal for individuals with 5 years + proven experience providing technical environmental advice, risk mitigation and implementation and ongoing management of environmental systems on mine sites. Excellent written and verbal communication is a must as this role plays an integral part in building the relationships between all stakeholders while meeting compliance standards.
Essential Requirements:
Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering or related discipline.
Relevant environmental experience on operating mine sites.
Experience with relevant legislation and environmental approvals
