This reputable International mining company is seeking an experienced Environmental Manager to lead and manage the Environmental Department.   
Report to the Sustainable Development Manager, You will have accountability to provide strategic environmental planning and guidance to the Senior Management Teams across one or more businesses at the same time liaising directly with regulatory authorities in respect to environmental performance. 

Key accountabilities include: 
• Ensure adherence to Environment policies and procedures including measurement and control of environment impacts, and measurement and review of compliance with legal and company requirements 
• Lead a large team of environment professionals including developing individual succession planning and managing performance against targets 
• Recommend and facilitate the implementation of initiatives for improvement in environmental performance, and review the effectiveness and adequacy of those initiatives 
• Assist with revising risk assessment and emergency planning 
• Provide consulting services and advice to facilitate the QLD Division compliance with companies Sustainable Development standards 
• Promote proactive environmental and closure planning strategies 
     
 Based in North QLD, you are an Environmental Leader with demonstrated operational experience in the Mining environment. You will have a track record in the delivery of Environmental Management Systems and experience with regulatory systems and a demonstrated ability to build relationships and influence key stakeholders both internally and externally.
