A lead provider of integrated services to major mining houses and small to medium sized exploration companies, the Moultrie Group of companies provides services in the fields of geology, database and modelling, safety, and surveying. The Group also offers a hire service for compressors, earthmoving and underground mining equipment, and poly pipe welding, through Moultrie Hire.

To maintain this growth we are offering some exciting opportunities to work and develop with a growing company.
Operating from head offices in Mackay and Brisbane and field offices throughout Queensland and New South Wales, we currently employ approximately 300 people across our operations.
We work in open pit and underground coal mines, coal and coal seam gas exploration and undertake exploration management on behalf of major mining houses. As a result of expanding growth of major resource customers we have an opportunity for an experienced Safety Coordinator to provide support to the Moultrie Group Safety Manager and safety team members.
Accountabilities of the role include:
- Develop, implement and review Health and Safety procedures within the safety management system
- Conduct internal audits of the effectiveness of safety systems
- Develop safety alerts and staff notices;
- Facilitate Risk Assessments
- Conduct inspections at workplaces and work sites
- Conduct incident investigations and compile investigation reports
- Assist supervisors implement health and safety systems and promote a focus on safety
- Conduct safety inductions and health and safety training
- Provide workplace rehabilitation to injured workers
- Compile reports measuring Health and Safety system implementation and compliance
- Present health and safety meetings and communicate health and safety information
The Person
To be successful, you will have experience in a similar safety coordinator/advisor role and previous work experience on mine sites and formal OHS qualifications will be required. You will need to demonstrate and have a proven track record and experience in safety system implementation, monitoring and improving, investigation skills and training and assessment qualifications. You must be willing to work hard implementing change management, new systems and demonstrate initiative within this expanding group of companies. The role will involve some local travel. The position will be primarily based in Brisbane.
