Environmental Advisor

Gold Fields are currently seeking an Environmental Advisor to join their Agnew Gold Mine.

Reporting directly to the Unit Manager: Environment you will be responsible for This role will be responsible for the timely action of environmental activities within the operation which meet current and anticipated demands in accordance with Gold Fields EHS standards whilst maintaining strict compliance with relevant legislative and statuatory requirements to ensure sustainable mining operations.

Key responsibilities will include;

• Partner with key stakeholders in the provision of coordination, support, direction and expertise in proactive environmental management ensuring effective controls are in place and managed
• Contribute to sustainable mining by advising on and facilitating land access for operations
• Provide timely input of environmental expertise into feasibility works, approvals and capital projects which will minimise environmental impact
• Participate in the development, implementation and continual improvement of the site's EHS Management system
• Participate in the development, implementation and overseeing of site general and recycling waste management programmes
• Consistently reinforce Zero Incident Process by participating in the dvelopment and implementation of strategies and initiatives to achieve best practice in health risks, lifestyle initiatives, hygience management and promote the reduction of incidents

Key factors to your success include;

• Tertiary qualification in Environmental Science
• Intermediate level of competency in Microsoft Office applications
• Experience in an environmental function within the mining/resources sector
