Role Details
Gold Fields Australia are currently seeking a Officer: Security to join their OHS department at St Ives Gold Mine.
Reporting to the Superintendent Security & Emergency Services, you will be responsible for assisting in the delivery of company operational and commercial targets in a safe, productive and efficient manner by delivering a comprehensive security service to site.
This role is offered on an 8 days on 6 days off roster and would require the incumbent to be residential in Kalgoorlie or Kambalda.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Secure the future of the company by diligently protecting its assets in the application of a variety of security practices including researching the availability of and deployment of new technologies
- Build individual and workforce capability by actively participating in the delivery of appropriate security training to ensure optimal competency levels are attained and maintained by the team
- Develop and maintain basic emergency response skills in accordance with departmental training requirements
- Assist in the delivery of a qualified emergency response service by partaking in training and real life accident/emergency situations taking direction from delegated personnel
- Assist in the effective control of departmental expenses by optimising the use of allocated funds in the areas such as training and development, sourcing, issuing, servicing repair of equipment including departmental vehicles
- Ensure high standards of housekeeping throughout the work area contributing towards a safe and efficient work environment and to reduce the risk of incidents or injury and the existance of potential health and occupational hazards
- Build the professionalism of the company by positively representing it in a number of forums relating to but not limited to mine rescue committees and competitions, law enforcement agencies and community emergency response groups.
Key factors to your success include;
- Completion of secondary education
- Certificate II in Security (Operations)
- Senior First Aid Certificate
- MR/HR Drivers Licence
- Intermediate level skills in Microsoft Office applications
- 2 years experience in Security Services
