Associate Mechanical Design Engineer - Materials Handling

A unique opportunity exists for a well connected, diverse Associate Mechanical Engineer to join a medium sized consultancy in a leadership role where your contribution will have an immediate impact.

With both technical and project engineering responsibilities and the choice of working from either the Newcastle or Sydney office, the successful candidate must have a Materials Handling background with a strong understanding of mechanical design across industries including mining and materials handling.

Essential to your success in this role:

• Mechanical Engineering degree
• Materials handling experience in conveyor, chute hopper or bin design
• Proposal development and strong client relationship building skills and experience
• Understanding of best practice in Maintenance and Materials handling
• Understanding of Australian and International standards relating to Materials Handling and Maintenance
• Experience in Maintenance strategies and Solutions
• Solid Commercial Acumen
• Prior experience in the design and completion materials handling projects
• Leadership experience of drafters and engineers
• Top tier communication and relationship building skills
• Sound project management skills and a motivation to finish projects to a high quality
