[Company] currently have a vacancy for a Reporting Project Manager / Senior Geophysicist in our Great Yarmouth office.
The main responsibilities of the role are:
Management of survey reporting and geoscience consultancy projects including all technical, operational and commercial aspects of nearshore survey interpretation and reporting. Technical and development responsibility for UXO detection methods. Supervising and providing quality control of all stages of complex interpretation and multi-component consultancy projects including the work carried out by more junior staff.
Other Key Responsibilities will be:
• To plan and conduct standard assignments requiring independent judgment in the selection of techniques, procedures and criteria
• To ensure that the reporting of nearshore survey projects is completed and delivered efficiently
• To monitor project budgets, schedules and performance against KPIs
• To supervise GeoConsulting project teams
• To specify the training needs of more junior Geophysicists and assist with delivery
• To act as offshore supervisor of the offline QC, processing and interpretation team on complex geophysical field investigations
• To assist the Geophysics Manager with general management and Client liaison
• To prepare invoices
• To actively promote the company’s nearshore survey capability within the business and academic community by writing articles and papers and making public and client confidential presentations.
Some travel and site work will be required, typically up to 70 days per year, both in the UK and overseas.
Position requirements
• Degree in Geophysics, Geology or related discipline. Preferably member of a professional organisation.
• Significant experience in the processing, interpretation of seabed survey data and in the
• management and delivery of reporting projects
• Seismic interpretation, seafloor studies, visualisation, mapping and plotting software and
• project management software
