Job Description

  • The HR and Office Administrator implements HR strategies and processes for the Human Resources function.  This position is also responsible for several accounting and office functions, serving office and plant employees. Responsibilities are accomplished by managing Staffing, Employee Relations, Salary Administration/Compensation, Employee On boarding, Development and Monitoring of Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action Plans, Diversity, Labor Relations, Training & Development, Communications, Organizational Development and Planning.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Administers the performance management process, merit planning and talent planning processes.
  • Submits and approves salary transactions for assigned employee levels according to applicable procedures.  Counsels and advises management regarding pay for hourly employees.
  • Implements and communicates day to day administration of Human Resources (HR) policies.
  • Provides HR support and counsel regarding employee relations’ issues.  Works with supervisors to investigate employee complaints.
  • Reviews and approves disciplinary actions, reductions in workforce and terminations.  Position is required to coordinate these activities with the Site Leader and Enerpac HR Leader.  Alerts the Enerpac HR leader to issues that may have legal implications.
  • Monitors and reports key HR metrics.
  • Partners with the Site Leader and supervisors to ensure positive employee relations.
  • Monitors personnel transactions to assure compliance with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws and regulations.
  • Prepares and evaluates periodic status reports concerning headcount, turnover, position openings, etc., to assure the best utilization of personnel.
  • Administers recruiting activity for salaried and hourly positions. Serves as liason with temporary help agencies.  Coordinates visits by candidates.
  • Communicates with Enerpac HR Leader regarding exceptions to policy, procedure, and generally accepted practice, and ensures Enerpac HR Leader is apprised of important HR matters within the business.
  • Assists the Safety Leader and Safety Committee.  Serves as primary contact with the Workers Compensation Insurance carrier to report and to follow up on accidents.
  • Develops and maintains strong, trustworthy and confidential working relationships with supervisors and employees.
  • Ensures that equality of opportunity is available to all existing and prospective employees.
  • Promotes and supports the Company’s LEAD program at the site.
  • Ensures own and others’ compliance with all Company standards, policies and procedures.
  • Oversees and assists with reception duties and customer assistance.
  • Backs up other office positions, assisting with peak loads for the functions of Purchasing, Quality, Accounting and Sales.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in an office generalist role with HR responsibilities.
  • High school degree with further education or certificates preferred.
  • Intermediate or greater proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Awareness of HR laws, procedures and processes.
