Job Description

  • A Hydratight Product Manager (PM) is a cross-functional leader of a portfolio category and a matrix product team which is formed to optimize the products within the portfolio’s market position and financial return over its life cycle.  This individual is charged with developing and implementing a global category strategic plan in order to achieve the financial objectives set for products within the category.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop strategic direction for product category and implement the strategies to support the delivery of the primary business growth.  Revenue Growth of 15% PA with an EBITDA of 28% for product category.
  • Develop global torque and tension product line strategic plan and implements that plan in order to achieve marketing, sales and financial performance objectives for the product line(s).
  • Project management of the development process ensuring specifications are met along with budgets and schedules.
  • Identifies, evaluates and implements programs to reduce product costs within assigned product line(s).
  • Monitors key market and product line performance metrics and develops initiatives to meet the objectives for those metrics.
  • Identifies and develops new products to meet business objectives.
  • Develops new product specifications in conjunction with engineering, sales and manufacturing teams.
  • Conducts global market analyses of Market Size, Competitors, Channels, Key Industry Segments and End-user Requirements for assigned product line(s).
  • Liaises with sales management to conduct appropriate new product launch and schedules and conducts applicable sales training.
  • Develops methods for field-testing to determine market acceptance; evaluates the effectiveness of promotional and advertising programs and recommends improvements or changes.
  • Defines global customer requirements in product features, service, technical application, pricing and delivery.
  • Develops and implements new marketing strategies and works closely with marketing communications to provide technical data for the production of literature and collateral material required to support the products and field sales.
  • Forecasts global annual product requirements and provides targeted inventory levels to achieve working capital performance, as well as, customer service goals.
  • Manages direct reports including annual appraisals, addressing performance issues, motivating and developing his/her team.
  • Maintains quality, safety and environmental standards and takes any corrective actions as required.
  • Leads and participates in process improvement activities and uses appropriate tools – kaizen events, value stream maps, and 6S etc…

Required Skills

  • BS/BA degree in Business, Engineering, relative technical field or equivalent previous experience is required.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in product management, marketing, engineering and/or sales role is required.  Experience or high exposure to industrial products in international markets is strongly preferred.  Sustained record of self-motivated industrial/manufacturing management, marketing or engineering achievements is required.
  • Demonstrated, strong management skills to lead a team or champion concurrent projects is required.
  • Strong business presentation skills are required with the ability to work with Microsoft Power Point.
  • Effective interpersonal and written communication skills in an aggressive business environment are required.
  • Excellent organizational skills are required with experience with Microsoft Project and Visio.
  • Proficiency using electronic spreadsheet, database, word processing and graphical presentation software, preferably Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Power Point, etc.) are required.
  • Domestic and international travel (US, Europe, Middle East, andAsia) required which could equate to 30% of the individual’s time.
