Job Description

  • Maxima Technologies & Systems in Lancaster, PA is experiencing growth and is seeking a Purchasing/Planning Mentor to complement our team. Reporting to the Plant Manager, this position is responsible for managing the purchase material planning requirements within our manufacturing facility. With additional facilities in Barcelona, Mexico, and China, our company offers a wide array of opportunities and challenges.

Required Skills (describe scope of knowledge and ability of the position):

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in operations management
  • Good analytical, negotiation, communication and problem solving skills
  • Advanced proficiency in MRP/ERP systems and order generation process logic
  • Thorough knowledge of materials management operational concepts surrounding production planning, scheduling, purchasing and inventory control; knowledge in off-shore sourcing and tracking metrics preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of Lean manufacturing and process variation reduction concepts and tool sets as they relate to materials management
  • Ability to lead cross-functional process improvement teams

Required Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience managing current and future demand requirements with manufacturing and supplier capabilities/capacities to ensure completion of customer requirements
  • Ensuring required documentation and/or system transactions are executed to allocate, purchase, internally manufacture or reschedule material as required
  • Assisting in expediting material and, where required, break barriers to meet shortfall between current plan and customer order requirements
  • Analysis of data including enterprise requirements planning information and preparing consolidated managerial reports as needed to facilitate and recommend actions to ensure plant/product line optimal supply chain execution
  • Ensuring correct planning parameters are utilized in order execution systems to ensure proper order generation
  • Managing material cost and schedule impact of proposed engineering changes (sourced in production) in addition to taking necessary actions to ensure successful implementation and incorporation of approved engineering releases
  • Analysis and management of aggregate inventory levels in relation to customer requirements to meet profit and inventory targets
  • Arranging for the sale of scrap, obsolete, surplus materials and by-products in order to minimize excess material
  • Evaluation of operational performance of the group in order to facilitate performance management, merit promotions, job transfers, dismissals, commendations, etc.
  • Coordination with Global Sourcing team to provide data and participate in teams in order to integrate with [Company] and drive best practices across corporation
  • Support compliance initiatives and corporate commodity strategies to achieve synergy across the operations
  • Team player who is adaptive and able to handle multiple priorities
  • Ability to work independently and drive projects through to completion
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with ability to interface with all levels of diverse and global organization
  • Self-directed with a focus on processes and continuous improvement
