Senior Accountant

Position Summary

• Position will play vital role in ensuring the Company’s accounting records are complete and accurate and its financial statements are prepared in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Position will be responsible for preparing and maintaining accounting records and supporting documentation to properly reflect financial transactions of the Company. Position will also support the Company’s business through the preparation of financial analysis.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial analysis to support business decisions
• Prepare journal entries and related accounting analysis for moderate to complex accounting areas
• Perform technical accounting research and apply accounting standards to business transactions
• Prepare memorandum to document and support accounting positions taken
• Prepare, analyze and distribute financial reports 
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and participate in monthly closing
• Perform and document assigned internal controls
• Assist in identifying areas of improvement and implementing enhancements

Job Requirements:

• Skills/Competencies/Abilities Required
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA certification or actively pursuing certification
• 3-5 years of accounting experience preferred
• Previous experience with complex accounting areas desirable
• Previous experience utilizing accounting systems desirable (e.g. Oracle, SAP, Hyperion)
• Technologically proficient
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills
• Strong communications skills (both oral and written)
• Ability to analyze issues, develop potential solutions, and communicate recommendations
