On-Site Quality Technician

Reporting to the QA Manager through the Project Manager, the on-site quality technician ensures WESA Tech compliance to customer contractual and on-site Quality (Manual) requirements, as well as conformance to WESA Tech Quality Management System.

This position requires travel and living at site for periods of up to 3 months or longer (with planned off-site breaks).

Responsibilities:

• Ensure conformance to all applicable on-site Quality Assurance and Quality Control requirements (as per contractual agreement)
• Ensure completion of all Inspections and Tests as per the customer approved ITPs
• Recording, reporting and initiation of correction actions for all non-conformances
• Collection and provision of Quality related data and information to the Project Controller
• Liaise with client on-site Quality representative(s)
• Provide Quality related training, on-site, as may be required throughout the course of client engagements
• Support the commissioning/turn-over process for equipment and systems
• Other Quality related activities as may be assigned by the QA Manager

Preferred Competencies:

• Education in one or more of the following:
• Civil engineering
• Mechanical engineering
• Construction management

Work experience involving one or more of the following:

• Water/Wastewater Treatment
• Mining and/or ore processing operations
• Construction
• Earthworks
• Fabrication

Knowledge of:

• Principles of Project Management
• Health & Safety in a construction environment
• Quality Assurance in a construction design and engineering environment
• ISO 9001
