Our client is a leading Queensland multi-disciplinary engineering Consultancy with a reputation for excellence in project design. They are part of an ASX listed company and operate nationally. Due to rapid growth and continued project demand in Queensland, they are seeking an experienced Civil Infrastructure Manager to join their Brisbane office and QLD team. The successful candidate will have key contacts within related companies, with a track record in the resources or energy sectors and links into state and local government agencies. Additionally, you will have a proven track record delivering consultancy services to large scale infrastructure projects.
In this position you will be responsible for managing the technical performance of the design team using a hands-on approach. You will ensure that project expectations are achieved and that you are instrumental in driving the team to meet project deadlines. You will also be required to be commercially aware, to further develop existing client relations & to bid on new prospective work. The position is responsible for leading the Brisbane Civil team, prioritising & coordinating tasks and developing & mentoring the staff.
Key Responsibilities and Experience:
Minimum 15 years experience in design and documentation of Civil engineering projects, with experience managing large scale Infrastructure projects;
At least 5 years experience in delivering consultancy services to clients in the energy and/or resources sector;
Previous employment or significant interactions with consultants, EPCMs or companies with a track record in the energy and/or resources sector;
Demonstrated experience working on important small and large scale private and Public Infrastructure projects;
Strong technical base and knowledge in roads &/or water infrastructure;
Thorough understanding of the Public Tendering process;
Highly developed and proven Business development skills;
Management of the client/consultant relationship;
Employment or significant interaction with Government Authorities;
Understanding of relevant Australian standards, State & local Government policies, guidelines and standards;
Review of design drawings and documentation;
Highly developed communication skills;
Proven project management skills;
Ability to build, Manage and lead a strong team; and
Qualified RPEQ is essential
